There is nothing I care about.
Outwardly, I’m a perfect gentleman.
Until my target sees my knife.
I fear nothing, not even death.
In my world, death is considered a privilege.
But my life comes with unbreakable cruel strings and
when I met her, I should’ve walked away.
I was too selfish.
And that sealed her fate.
Because one week with me led her into the hands of ruin.
We all have unique layers that make up who we are.
What makes us vulnerable or strong.
What we fear and what excites us.
But peel back those layers and you’re left naked and exposed.
They did that to me.
Each piece was slowly stripped away then burned.
I merely existed.
But there was one layer they overlooked.
The most important of them all—the tie to one man.
The man responsible for me being this way.
The man who found me.
And the killer who would do anything to protect me.
Perfect Ruin is the dark erotic story of Kai and London.
And the continuing story of Vault.

"Don't ever stop believing in me." Because I didn't know what I'd do if she did.~Kai
YES!!! We are back on track! Perfect Ruin is book 2 in the Unyielding series by Nashoda Rose. While I can't say I fell in absolute love with book 1, Perfect Chaos, this installment has pulled me in. It pulled me in mainly because I seemed to stay 'on the fence' for most of the story. Mommy issues overload! I loved it, love that it was actually fused into the story, not just a convenient backstory excuse for our lead male to be an asshole. Speaking of our lead male, another pro for me was his name-Kai. It's different without being too different...or that of anything regarding automotives or terms you would hear at an arraignment.
Kai is described to be in his early 30's, stands at 6'2" and has a subtle British accent. Perfect. Beneath the calm lies a live wire and for me, that's one of, if not thee most intriguing thing about this character. However, there is a find line between dominant and bully imo and there were a couple of scenes that didn't sit well with me. His chosen 'punishment' dumbed down the heroine and no, she was not "brave". I went back and forth on how I felt about his idea of therapy/rehab but his character development was nicely done. It was one particular scene, working on the spare room that made him so completely human and eventually, the give and take became a bit more balanced.
Perfect Ruin doesn't solely revolve around the lead couple and as this series progresses I'm seeing how all the characters and backstories are tightly woven together. Along with the fast paced action, it added a lot of depth to the story. On a side note, Ernie. LOVE
Is it 2016 yet?!
