After graduating from high school and working several dead-end jobs, JD lands a job as a personal trainer at a newly opened gym. At first he is inexperienced and shocked at how much money people are willing to drop to train with him. But soon he starts to learn the ropes of the business. It’s not long before JD carves a niche for himself training well-to-do housewives and successful older women. As he gives into these women’s demands, he is faced with an internal struggle: he wants to make money and retain clients, but he knows that what he is doing is wrong. If his girlfriend or one of his clients’ spouses ever found out about this other life he’s leading, everything could blow up in his face and it could mean the end of his career. But for the time being, what’s wrong with enjoying the attention of many attractive, sexy women who seem to be more than willing to please young JD? This hilarious and honest collection of stories includes advice for both personal trainers and clients and a look at the lesser-known-side of personal training.

****The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review****
"And just like that I became one of those douchebags in the gym."
~J.D. Holmes
...and then some.
When the lovely Jillian contacted me in regards to reading and reviewing a book because I was "the first person" she thought of, I couldn't help but be intrigued. I mean who else better to review a book about a personal trainer and his sexapades than a reader/reviewer/fitness instructor?! I was eager to dive right in. I'm a big on covers and this one in particular is fantastic, quite the eye catcher (maybe not as effective as that author pic but I digress. What?!?! You looked, you know you did.*wink*
I Like Your Form is a hard book for me to categorize. It's something of a quirky, often crass, how NOT to type of book. Young J.D. was the epitome of the term "man-child" He had the young trainer physique but the mind of a horny preteen and quite possibly the most gullible person alive. As I read story after story about him tumbling into bed, or desk, or massage table, or car seat, with these older women I kept thinking to myself, how stupid can one guy be? These weren't the most subtle women on the planet and young J.D. just kept snowballing. This book doesn't come across as though he's gloating, the author repeatedly admits that he himself didn't get his "appeal" and that he did nothing to draw these women in, with the exception of giving them the full hour they paid for and listened to any and everything they wished to discuss during their training session. Did I mention he's stubborn as well? Even as he saw the hole he was digging himself into  he continued jackhammering away...literally.
I'll be honest, there were times where I thought to myself, "Omg, this guy is so full of shit." At the same time, I found myself nodding yes as I read his recollections of how things can be in a gym setting. He was spot on when he broke down the different types of trainers and gym members. I got a good laugh out of that and I'll be the first to admit, I shared some of my favorite lines with a friend as we adjusted our spin bikes before class and then with a different friend after our Zumba cool down. What can I say, it was quite the conversation starter and provided some extra entertainment as I walked through the weight room, labeling everyone based on J.D.'s words. I appreciated his brutal honesty as well...
How many times have you walked into a gym and been greeted by a heffer? Chances are not often, if at all, unless it's a gym that caters only to very overweight people. I cannot recall for the life of me seeing a porky gym receptionist, but I have never set foot inside a Curves, so I could be way off.
Insensitive? Maybe? A bit harsh? Probably. Still, it is what it is and he held no punches.
Throughout the book, the author gives great advice on how to avoid tempting pitfalls in the business, and based on his history, he would know! There really wasn't a "no no" that he didn't dabble in. He admits to being selfish, emotionally and morally stunted, and just an overall asshole. He spent his trainer years sleeping with damn near any woman who would let him and given his seemingly aversion to using protection, I'm glad that he didn't catch anything that he couldn't throw back. He looks back and realizes how lucky he is given all he's done. While I found some of the stories a little over the top, I can see his appeal without fully seeing the man himself. The author has a charming, off beat, boyish quality to his personality that even lines like this...
There's nothing worse than sticking your tongue in something that smells of a lush tropical garden but turns out tasting like the top of a nine-volt battery.
still left me grinning ear to ear and then questioning my own sanity as I "awww'ed" him a couple of times. This book isn't for everyone. He seems to be a lot like me when it comes to conversation cursing. It just comes out, and made sense with the topic at hand. For me, it actually added to the book, gave it a laid back feel that I could roll with. This author has a voice, and a talent for sure. I hope to read more from him in the future.

Like most guys, I didn't know what to do with my life. After floating around for some time after high school, I somehow got a job as a personal trainer. There was nothing that could have prepared me for what seemed like an overnight transformation from average guy to a rock star. Along with a hefty paycheck, the added benefits to the job were mind-blowing, which I don't have time to discuss here. From housewives to co-eds to gay guys, I've trained them all with quite a few unbelievable stories over the years. I had been sharing my decade long experience with friends for some time so it seemed right to get it on paper and share it with the world. I still find the gym life fascinating and write a weekly blog about the odd things you come across when you set foot in any fitness center. Keep lifting & keep laughing.

In one night my fairytale ended. Or it may have begun. This is my story of friendship and love, heartbreak and desire, and the strength to show weakness.

One night I met a girl. A sad and broken girl, but one more beautiful than any other. She laughed through her sadness, while I loved through her heartbreak.

*This is our story of a maybe ever after.*

He was right. It made no difference whether it was 6 months or 6 years.
I couldn’t undo what had been done. I couldn’t change the future.
I couldn’t even predict it.
It was one night.
One night when everything changed.
It was so much more than just the betrayal.
It was the Tragedy.
The Deaths.
The Murders.
But it was also that feeling.
The feeling of falling.

Hi all! Summer is quickly coming to a close and I have A LOT on my plate. My girls have to get readjusted in school, I have a part time job to return to as well. PLUS...I'm a fitness instructor and have new classes to teach for the fall and then there's my little writing project that has been suffering greatly. There just aren't enough hours in the day. I know many of you can relate!

For the month of September, I am asking for guest posts/reviews/promos/short stories, what ever you like. Readers and authors alike are welcome. I don't really have any "rules" or "guidelines", other than asking that you not review a book that has already been reviewed here on PRUFreads and that it be book one if you choose to review from a series (unless I've already reviewed book 1, if so, feel free to review book 2!)

I hope to hear from you soon! You can email me at please put "Sept. guest posts" in the subject line. Thanks!

"Move with me, Reagan. I feel...connected. Like I need you in order to recognize myself."

~Trey Mills

In some ways, I don't even want to do this review. It took me forever to decide on a rating. I went back and forth, over and over again before I finally settled on three. I went with three because I feel like I'm dead square in between loving and loathing it. The first 60% or so, I was hooked, line and SINNER. Without a doubt, my favorite pairing in this final Sinners installment is the Mills brothers. Each and every scene with Dare and Trey trumped everything else and I really, truly hope for some Trey cameos in Dare's series that Ms. Cunning has on tap.

The beginning of the book is very bitter sweet and stirred my emotions immediately. The continuous Trey/Brian situation has never been an easy one and if you have a soft spot for those two, even if you're happy with Brian's HEA, be prepared for some sniffles, while I'm not Myrna's biggest fan (just not fond of the character) she earned some brownie points with me with her genuine concern for Trey and his feelings.

Reagan had the makings to be one, if not my absolute favorite female in this series. I love how she was introduced. I love how she's a little on the tomboy side by some standards. She's not into nails and heels, doesn't give shit either way and of course the fact that she's a huge talent was a nice change in this series. Trey, what can you say about Trey? He's just...yeah. I didn't like how he decided to handle Reagan in the beginning but how he pursued her, his desperate attempt at winning her verses taking her and then ultimately leaving her...serious fangirling. She's so perfect for him and their initial scenes had so much chemistry, the banter and her ability to go toe to toe with him had Mr. Mills swooning as well.

Enter Ethan...

I could not, for the life of me, warm up to his character. I never got past the feeling that he was a little shady and was playing both sides. This is Trey's story however and even the cover lets you know what's to come but even so, how it all came together just didn't quite work for me. Reagan and Trey's growing relationship was somewhat of a slow burn (compared to some of the previous pairings in this series) there was a lot of heart, a lot of "baby steps" if you will. Both have trust issues, both fell into something with one another that they weren't expecting. I had a hard time accepting the fact that Reagan and Ethan had remained roommates and "best friends" after all that happened between them. A break up is one thing but a betrayal? hmm...once Ethan came into the picture, everything became oh so convenient.  Every one's hang ups all of a sudden disappeared. What was initially really great pacing became rushed so as to get to the finish line with a pretty little bow on top.

If any Sinner deserved his happily ever after, it's Trey. That being said, for this entire series he has been notorious for loving ONE person. Only one person for over ten years and has never received that love back in return. But I'm supposed to buy into this? Times two? It was too much, too fast. I would have preferred a "Six months later".  Oh well, it happens. The steam factor, however, was OFF THE CHARTS. I guess for me, I wanted more for Trey. The boys however, their dynamic remained the very best part of this series all the way to the end.

Trey Mills remains one of, if not THEE best "rock star" character in this genre. For me, it has nothing to do with his bisexuality. It's his heart, his passion, his strength and his vulnerability.  Ms. Cunning did an amazing job over the course of five books building the perfect, imperfect character. Oh I will miss him so!

My rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

"You're like Mr. Romance and Mr. Porn Star wrapped in one."

Yes, yes he is.

"No one has ever loved me before. Not really. Not for who I am. Maybe for what I could give them, but not for me."

Say it with me, AWWWW!!!!

M'k, now that that's out of the way, I have some issues here. I love me some Sinners, and when I say love, I mean LOVE. That being said, I'm still bitter that this series was released out of order. I haven't read Double Time yet, thankfully, but a lot of fans have, not realizing that this book was actually to come first. That ruined things for a lot of fans. So unfortunate. Two, this is Eric's book so while I LOVE the cover, I wish it would have been more "drummer friendly", if that makes sense. Granted, his sticks are on display but...I just wish it had been a bit more. Three, don't care for Reb. I mentioned in another review that she turned me off with her "need to be seen" and constant drooling over Trey. I mean sure, when it comes to Trey, what's not to drool over BUT...Trey deserved a heroine all his own and Wicked Beat didn't give him that. She wasn't given layers, character wise. She just came off as desperate whore more times than not. Did I warm up to her in the end? Sure but first impressions and all...

Now to the good parts, Eric. If I didn't just adore him before...All the Sinners have an "issue" and I have to say that his surprised me a bit. Not that it isn't common or anything but to give a hot rocker a sexual "issue" such as that is rare and was handled nicely. Eric is too cute for words and his inner monologue often entertained me more than what was being said between he and Reb. It was adorable, witty and dirty all laced with a boyish charm that only Eric could pull off. Trey, what can I say about Trey? He's my favorite Sinner and Wicked Beat only proved that even further. How protective and big brother'ish he was with Eric was sweet. Well as sweet as Trey can be with his naughty sexual antics! I can't say I agree with ALL of his actions but his heart was in the right place.

One thing that has remained throughout this entire series is the brotherhood of these band mates. Ms. Cunning does such an amazing job with those boys that half of the time, their romantic relationships become secondary for me. I just want to read more about their touring, recording and the crazy stunts they pull on one another in between. I'm sad that after I read Double Time, that will be the last of the Sinners. I also read her One Night With Sole Regret series but the books are much shorter and can't quite hold a candle to this series. I am especially curious as to what she will bring with her next series featuring Dare Mills and his band Exodus End!

He gestured for her to come over and positioned her in front of the mirror. “What do you see?” He asked, coming behind her to study her reflection.
“I see us.” She frowned, not understanding.
“I see a broken woman, Noelle. Look at you – you’re beautiful.” He lifted up the mass of her auburn hair. “This colour is gorgeous. I know women that pay a fortune to get hair like this at a salon and it never captures its true beauty.” Large hands moved in front of her face to frame her eyes. “You have exquisite eyes. They’re so piercing and haunted. They were the first thing I noticed about you when I walked into the study. They could knock a man dead at two hundred paces. You have spectacular breasts.” He framed them between his arms. “They’re lush and full and the perfect size.” His hands fell away. “I’m not going to list all your wonderful features, because the truth is that you don’t see them. You’re broken inside. There’s something in your soul that’s been smothered.” She met his eyes in the mirror and he smiled. “Luckily, healing souls is my speciality. So today we’re going to do something of a baptism. I’m going to leave you standing here while I go run us a bath. While I’m gone, I want you to study yourself. I want you to examine every flaw and every imperfection, every tiny little thing you hate about yourself. When I come back, you are going to walk away from this mirror and leave it all behind. You’re changing, Noelle. Gabriel started your metamorphosis, but I’m going to make you a butterfly. Your old life is over. Here and now is where a new life begins.”
He walked away, leaving her staring at the mirror in confusion. It didn’t work like that. You couldn’t just catalogue your flaws and then walk away from them. If she thought her hips were fat now, they weren’t going to be any skinnier when she walked away from the mirror. What was he expecting of her? Her eyes travelled over her small frame and tears pricked at them. How had Gabriel seen her? Had he seen all her flaws or had he just picked out the nice bits like Blue had? What did it even matter? He was dead and it still hurt to breathe. She was the bitch that had driven him to his suicide and there was no amount of prettifying that could change that.
Cal’s words came back to her...that Gabriel had chosen her deliberately because she was naive. She thought of her epiphany...that his actions had been so calculated to force her to submit without using her safe word. She still couldn’t feel any anger towards him for what he had done while he was alive, but perhaps Master Henway was right. Was she judging herself too harshly? Did she have double standards? No...she had nothing in her life that forced her to be a victim to Gabriel. She had gone into it with her eyes wide open and just allowed him to own her absolutely. That was the difference between them – he’d had no choice in what was done to him. She had.

Erotic Gay Fantasy Romance

Even the darkest of hearts can find love.

Banished to the mortal realm for a crime he didn't commit all Nico wants to do is return home. Legion feels love is weakness, it's an emotion only felt by fools. Answering a bundled summoning attempt Legion's world is turned upside down by the exotic Nico. Intrigued by the mortal, Legion finds himself unable to stay away. Refusing to believe he might actually be falling in love he sets out to discover who has cast such a wicked spell on him. Nico has a secret though, one that could end his relationship and destroy his chance to return home.

Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains adult sexual situations and/or adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.

Nico kissed him once more, his lips like soft rose petals. Legion was unsure how to respond. He had never been kissed like this before, he had never been with a mortal before. There were a few in the celestial realm that had gotten his attention but never, and he did mean never, had a dust bunny been able to capture his attention. He wasn’t really quite sure how they did satisfy the cravings of the flesh. He had an idea but had never actually done it himself so he wasn’t sure how the whole thing worked.

Nico’s body continued to press against him, his hands slid into his hair. Legion searched his mind trying to figure out how he wanted him to respond but once again all he could see was him tied to the bed, his legs tied to his wrists, crying out as if in pain. Legion didn’t want to hurt him and for the life of him he wasn’t sure why Nico wanted him to cause him such pain.
“Have you ever been kissed by a guy?” Nico whispered, continuing to run his fingers through the dark shaggy hair.
“Uh, yes.” He sort of lied.
He had been kissed by a guy before, plenty of them, just never by a mortal one. This was somehow primitive, it wasn’t the touching of bodies, the joining of auras that they had on the celestial plane. This was hot, wet, full of feelings he knew little about. He concentrated more on controlling his reaction to Nico’s touches; it was getting harder by the moment though.
Legion looked at the top of Nico’s head as those perfect lips found his nipple. This was new to him, they never touched like this in his realm. His brain was assaulted by the new feelings. Suddenly a sharp pain shot threw his body hitting his brain like an explosion, he realized that Nico was biting him and he liked it. Then it hit him, the images he saw when he tried to read his mind had nothing to do with pain or torture, it was sex Nico wanted. It seemed like in a cruel joke, but the joy of sex looked like the scrunched up face of pain.
 “Let’s go upstairs,” Nico whispered.
“I can’t.” Legion pulled away. He didn’t know if he was ready for this. To get in bed with a mortal and do such carnal things was a big step for him. “I have to go.”
“Was I too forward?” Nico’s large eyes suddenly filled with tears. Once again Legion’s heart ached. He hated these emotions, why should he care if Nico cried? He had seen plenty of people cry before, he had seen them beg and plead and it never bothered him. This one mortal dust bunny though changed everything. It made Legion’s heart ache at the thought of ever doing anything to hurt or displease Nico. He had to find out who bewitched him, how they did it and then destroy them so it could never happen again.
“You’ve done nothing wrong. I have things I need to do, when we’re ready to join our bodies in such a way I want to make sure no one bothers us,” he stated, trying to keep all emotion from his voice. He didn’t want Nico to know what he was doing to him.
He nodded, blinking back the tears.
Legion reached over kissing him ever so gently on the lips. “I promise I will return soon and we can finish what we started.”

My rating: 3 out of 5 stars

***Please note, book was gifted by the author in exchange for an honest review***

"You and me...we will make it work. You will not run when it starts getting hard or when I demand more than you've ever given any man."

~Knox Gunner

Shifters and Rockers and Doms...OH MY!!! On paper, this should have been my book of the year, while I didn't hate it, I can't quite say I loved it either. I was torn throughout and even still as type this review. The beginning, chapter one...brilliant. I thought to myself, hell. yes. Chapter two...not quite as good but I'm all in when comes to rockers, and heartbreak, up and coming or otherwise. Chapter three came around and I felt I hit a wall.

Knox carried the book for me, even when he was an asshole, he was still worth reading. He's a complex character who manages the "sexy alpha" without making me hate him lol . Don't get me wrong, I mumbled "bastard" a couple of times. Storm/Stormy, she is a different story altogether. I didn't care for her, couldn't quite connect to her. She seemed stuck in a ghetto version of the 90's, her slang was annoying at best. She came off as uneducated and I don't care for that type of character unless it's part of the plot and in this case I think it was just to make her "bad ass".

Like I said, I was hooked immediately in chapter one which took place centuries prior and then I enjoyed reading some back story in regards to her relationship with Knox while in college. Chapter three brought me to the present and I started to get bored. There is a scene between Storm and her cousin Light (yeah, that's actually her name) that seemed to go on for days and don't get me started on the conversation the two women had with their mothers that were off on some kink convention or something...The family business is to provide escorts for "The Others" (shifters, vamps, you get the point) but the Credence women themselves refuse to get attached for fear of the family curse that leaves their great loves dead. Something isn't right and everyone isn't exactly who they seem so the reader is treated to some twists, action and intrigue.

I'm on the fence as to whether or not I will continue with this series. I went back and forth throughout. I would be fangirling one minute and rolling my eyes the next. Some of the dialogue and scenes between Stormy and Knox was beautiful and raw. She wasn't always so childish and their chemistry was palpable. Overall I liked Breaking the Storm but I think it could have been more, and I couldn't get over some of the repetitiveness, she's a size 9, I get it. That being said, the girl on the cover...ANYWHO...character names. I am all for the edgy, unique names to go with the characters that bring these fantasy worlds to life but sometimes, it's too much. Light? no. Her best friend, a vamp hybrid is named Reason? I had to read it a couple of times, asking myself why the hell was the word reason being capitalized. Then there's some of the "crew", Rip, Jackal and Soar. No, no and no.

Even now, yes? no? Gah....torn!

My rating: 4.5  out of 5 stars

***Please note, gifted by the author in exchange for an honest review***

"If this thing that I feel when I touch is not because you are a Keeper, then it's because you are Mine. And there is no world that I canna find you if you are that lass. Do you understand me?"

First up, a huge thanks to author Jennifer Sage for sharing her Guardians with me. Not that I'm giving them back or anything but still...

I wasn't quite sure how this book was going to play out for me. I struggled in the beginning and you guys know I'm a kindle'er lol and speak in percentage. That being said, it wasn't until I hit the 25% mark that the book not only grabbed me but also held me all the way to the end. I like the cover but I don't love it, plus there are some editing issues as well. The thing is, once I got over that first hurdle, it was full speed ahead and I simply could not read fast enough. I love our hero Keltor and the world around him. He is part of an elite group of Guardians that protect humans, angels, yet not. He has suffered great loss that changed him as a man but, and forgive me for the lack of a better term but he doesn't whine about it. I love drama and a broken hero as much as the next girl but sometimes, authors milk it to the point where I stop caring. That was not the case here, so nice balance on that front.

My "meh" character I would have to say is our heroine Liz. I didn't hate her but I didn't connect with her so she slowed down the first part of the book for me. It was another female character, Iliyana that totally stole the spotlight when she arrived to train Liz. Iliyana is both a hardcore warrior, yet soft and quirky but not so quirky that she's painted as a cartoon. Again, great balance because I've read so many books that the author tries too hard with their heroines and they become laughable and annoying. Iliyana is a fascinating character and if she doesn't fall for fellow Guardian Dante, I just may flip my shit. ;-)

Back to Keltor and Liz. Let's talk chemistry. I didn't feel it with them at all, until story time that is. That scene was beautiful and brilliant and stunning and yeah, I could go on. At that point, I was completely on board with the pairing. Even so, I don't believe they will be my favorite couple in this series. Ms. Sage did a fantastic job laying the groundwork for what looks to be future couples that even as this point I'm already invested. The loved, LOVED the supporting cast. The good, evil and everything in between. I'm usually not a fan of child characters in this type of book, especially ones that aren't born to the main characters but little Miss Kate, loved her. Kate is just shy of 7 years old and plays a pivotal role in this book. It isn't easy for authors to write as a child, talk and behave as a child but again, Ms. Sage did a great job with her character and I found Kate to be quite delightful. She too is a character that I hope to read more about as this series continues.
