REVIEW-HER DARK ANGEL (HER ANGEL #1) BY FELICITY E. HEATON

My rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

 "We are angels...not saints"
 ~Apollyon

Her Dark Angel is book 1 of the Her Angel series. This was a quick, short read. While I can enjoy a novella, I sometimes wish for more. This is no exception. I would have loved more backstory here, more development, more of a full story.

Apollyon is the raven haired, blue eyed, dark angel guarding the gates of Hell. He's grown restless and longs to feel the wind in wings once more. He's waited for what seems to be an eternity for his master to call upon him, needing him for a mission. When that call finally comes, Apollyon is shocked to find that the one who called to him, is the same fair haired beauty he has been watching from afar. Serentity has revenge on her mind.

I was pleasantly suprised by Apollyon's quirky charm. One of the things I love most about the paranormal romance genre is our "hero" is usually ancient and completely out of place in present day. Something as simple as a kitchen appliance is foreign and odd. A couple of my favorite scenes where when he tasted coffee for the first time, and everytime thereafter, and when he forgot the range of his wings while attempting to come in from the apartment balcony.

Being a novella, the romance aspect of the book was a bit rushed. That being said, it was still touching and eyebrow raising. I loved that Serenity wasn't the typical "lay and quiver beneath him" type of female lead, and lead she did...

While I can't say I loved this first installment, the series overall definately has potential so I will gladly move straight to book 2. This is the second book I've read this author and I like her style and that lonely place her heros come from.

REVIEW-FORBIDDEN BLOOD (VAMPIRE VENATORS ROMANCE SERIES #1)

My rating: 4.5 stars out of 5

"Your belief in me...it will not save you. I am a slave to my instincts...you make me a beast and I cannot fight it. I want you."

~Kearn Savernake

I can't seem to stop smiling. Forbidden Blood is one of those rare books that not only draws the reader in immediately, but also manages to keep you there, loving every minute of it. This is a lengthy novel but never slowed down, never grew stale. Even when I figured out the "villian", I remained very invested in the story right up to the very end.

Kearn Savernake. A 360 year old Noble, an outcast, a Venator for the Sovereignty. A role he never wanted, never asked for, was never meant to be his.  Hated by his own kind, feared by others, Kearn doesnt even recognize himself in the mirror. His once black hair, now silver, his blue eyes now a striking emerald green. At first glance his right arm bares a sleeve of ink but when his power engages, his arm glows blue.  His appearance marks him, brands him as a Venator. He lives a cold, lonely life, driving the streets of London in his white Audi R8,  hunting his own kind who have chosen a sinful, dark, forbidden path.

A select few of individuals are Source Bloods. Their blood possesses the ability to take vampire powers to another level. Because it takes their powers to a godlike state, drinking Source Blood is as forbidden as it is tempting. Kearn has been hunting one rogue in particular for over 3 years. When he rescues Source Blood human Amber in an alley, he realizes his man has struck again. This human may be just the break Kearn needs, if he himself can resist her that is.

I was suprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I am new to this author but plan to read much more from her in the very near future. I loved the word play. There was some repitition in spots but overall, the author paints the picture well. I was able to feel Kearns emotions right along with him. Her words were very powerful and the balance between Kearn's strength and his vulnerability was perfect. Lethal and humble all at the same time and when he loves, he loves hard. My heart swelled more than once, and there may have been a tear or two. Forbidden Blood is a powerful romantic read that I truly enjoyed getting lost in.

REVIEW-ETERNAL HUNGER SERIES BY FRANCENE CARROLL

My rating: 2.5 stars out of 5

*** Please note, the following review is based on all 5 installments of this series, overall.***

I decided to review this series as a whole simply because each installment, on it's own, wasnt enough to review individually. All 5 could have, and in my opinion, should have been combined into one novel.

Lucia's bachelorette party, at her favorite club Desire, takes an odd turn when she is bitten by a sexy stranger on the dance floor. What is real and what is not starts to become a blur in the days following. While Lucia would like to blame pre wedding day jitters, she can't deny the pull for very long. Now, she has a big decision to make, a simple, standard marriage with Aiden...or something much more complex.

To be honest, I wasn't sure I would finish this series. Book 1 and 2 didn't grab me at all. Both were rather boring, I can handle boring, for awhile atleast. What was disappointing was the fact that there is so much potential. I liked the general idea of the series and book 3 stirred enough interest for me to continue to the end. Some things were obvious, others quite interesting and thought provoking. It was the lack of building for both character and storyline that made it fall short for me.

Casting the Masters of the Rescue Me series by Kallypso Masters

I just recently finished book 3 of this series and in my reviews I've posted my casting choices for the main male characters. While Ms. Masters, described Damian as looking alot like Orlando Bloom, the others, well...I had to use my imagination. Their pics are scattered within the 3 reviews but I started to wonder, wouldnt it be better to look at all 4 at the same time?! Introducing my Masters...
