My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

It was like someone was yanking his nuts out of his body through his throat. "Again," he rasped, because said testicles were lodged in his esophagus.

I am so sad to have reached the end of this series. Fingers crossed for a spinoff because there are so many more stories to tell. A new generation of agents, hybrid agents at that. Would make for an amazing tale.

When you mix a Telekinetic and a Excedosapien with super strength, you get Stryker. Stryker is a son of ACRO of sorts. Born and raised on the compound, both parents are ACRO agents. As a child, Stryker put a whole new meaning to "terrible two's". Just one temper tantrum away from bringing a whole building down...or worse. Stryker is an elementalist. He can bring forth earthquakes, volcanos, Tsunamis, mudslides and even avalanches. Natural disasters, that powerful force, also pulls at his sex drive.

If just his "nature" alone doesn't make him dangerous enough, Stryker is aching for revenge. Supervisor, mentor, friend, Akbar Shatar was brutally murdered, burned alive right in front of a then helpless Stryker. At the hands of a beautiful but lethal Itor agent, Phoebe Milan. There is more to Phobe than meets the eye, literally. She's the result of genetic tampering via ITOR. She and her twin sister Melanie share a body but are actually two different people, two different special "gifts". The sisters take sibling rivalry to a whole nother level, fighting for dominance of the one body.

I really enjoyed this last book of the ACRO series. Not only did we get the delcious story of Stryker but a nice wrap up of all the existing stories that still remained. The sex scenes were, once again, off the charts. There is a scene that takes place in a SUV after a training session....just. wow.. That being said, I should warn readers that there is a rape scene that I was especially disturbed by. There is also a suprising threesome that had me grinning from ear to ear and squealing like the ultimate fangirl.

For me, Creed, Annika and Dev were the driving forces for the entire series. I was thrilled to see how front and center they were at the ending of this book, how their stories were wrapped up. I was fully satisified but still want more. Creed is right...."Fuck Disney Land. Because all in all ACRO was the happiest damn place on earth."

My rating: 3.5 stars out of 5

"You want it baby? he murmured, as he jerked himself with long, tantalizing pulls.

"You want this buried so deep you can taste it when I come?"

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Sad, yet excited,  to be starting the 6th and final book. That being said, this enstallment is my least favorite of the series, to date. I understand that is series is actually written by two authors but I really couldn't tell until this book. I feel as though the first part of the book was written by someone other than the author that wrote the majority of books 1-4. The style was different, it actually ran slow and I was bored. I remember telling a friend that I didn't know what happened, I felt like someone else had taken over and it just wasn't working. At all.

There are four main characters in book 5. Chance (SEAL), Logan, son of owner of Global Weapons Corporation, Sela and Marlena, both of whom are ACRO agents. The build up for these four characters really lacked, for me at least. It was hard for me to even care about the characters, aside from Marlena. Marlena only because I've gotten to know and care about the character throughout the series.

Around chapter 12, when Creed and Annika reappeared, everything changed. Actually, I noticed a shift around chapter 10. The book started reading like the previous books, I woke up, literally, and enjoyed it from that point on. This book features another shape shifter and I have to say, I wasn't thrilled with the "beast"  chosen for the character to shift into. For some reason it just fell really flat for me and even somewhat cheesy.

After the, what seemed to be an author switch, I was able to actually get invested on the two new couples introduced. Both couples started to relate to one another on a more emotional level without losing the steam and sheer hotness that I've grown accustomed to while reading this series. While I eventually grew to care about the four main characters of this book, once again, Creed and Annika stole the show. There is a huge development for this couple and I have to say, this book holds what I believe is one of their hottest scenes to date.

We also get a sneak peek of Stryker who will be featured in book 6. Stryker is 6'5" with crystal clear eyes, with hints of green and blue. Nicknamed "Kaleidoscope eyes" by his Kindergarden girlfriend. He's blonde and has the power to create earthquakes. Am I excited to start book 6? That would be a yes. I just hope it reads like the first 4 books of the series. Here's to hoping the best has been saved for last.

My rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

"I want to break free of these bonds, bend you the fuck over and rail you so hard you scream."

They say there can be a whole lot of pleasure in a little bit of pain. Taming the Fire, the 4th installment of he ACRO series, confirms as much. Meet Trance, former  Army MP, now ACRO agent. Trance, an excedosapien, possesses extraordinary strength and the ability to hypnotise. As Maroon 5 would say, "look into his eyes and he'll own you.." Trance isn't new the underground BDSM scene, though for this mission, he must step out of his comfort zone. Trance must pose as a Sub. Something this alpha Dom won't find easy to do. That is until he sets his eyes on his target, or "Mistress Rik" as it were.

Ulrika, aka "Rik" is on the run from Itor. Her entire clan were held by Itor. With experiments gone wrong, Rik is the only survivor. Rik is a shapeshifter who is always battling the her inner beast. Dominating humans is just one way of maining herself, not letting the beast take over. If the beast takes over the woman, Rik becomes extremely dangerous not only to others, but to herself as well. This is why ACRO must bring her in, for everyone's protection, including her own.

The story of Trance and Rik was intriguing. The power struggle, the willing to submit when everything in your body screams otherwise. Trusting someone is often one of the hardest things a person can do. Their story tests that willingness, that surrender. Even when you think you've come to the end of their struggle to find happiness, a huge bomb is dropped, a connection they never saw coming. One that only true love could survive.

While on his mission, Trance also sees a familar face, an ACRO agent, whose fate was unknown. Throughout the series we know that Dev, along with other things, constantly worries about the fate of an agent who was working undercover for ACRO within the ITOR organization. While Trance recognizes Ryan, Ryan isn't clear on anything, other than he too is on a mission that could bring he and Trance head to head.

That realization helps to launch the second of the three love stories in this book. ACRO agent Ryan has no memory. Even what he thinks he knows of himself, it's not that simple. One name, "Coco" is all he can recall. Who "Coco" turns out to be, not only to Ryan but also to a  character from a previous book, ties the stories together nicely. I love Coco and Ryan's backstory. Ryan believes he's a cruel, disturbed man and initially behaves accordingly. That being said, there's just something about  "Coco" that moves him. Bringing out the man he truly is.

Last but certainly not least, we have Dev. He continues to struggle to be the leader ACRO needs while still in such mourning. He has Marlena and she does all she can for him. While their relationship is dysfunctional at best, there is a certain ease between them. They genuinely care for one another, this book showcases that. Marlena's selfless sacrifce , for Dev, was heartbreaking.

The harsh winter is over and Oz, being true to his word, sent Dev an "angel" of sorts. New ACRO recruit, "Gabe" or Gabriel is a little rough around the edges. He's got a chip on his shoulder, powers he doesn't have full control of and constantly finds himself at Dev's door. Did I mention he's gorgeous? Dev struggles with himself, could this really be Oz's doing? He's uncomfortable with the pull he feels for the troubled recruit.  Gabe may be young but he's not intimidated by Dev, he won't back down. As some walls start to tumble, we, the reader, learn more about Gabe's background. In one word, tragic. Oz made me smile, what he did for Dev, he didn't stop there. It was a small gesture, but there's a little something he does for Trance that makes for the perfect way to tie all these stories together.

Extremely enjoyable read, excited to start book 5.

Slowly getting closer to Nov. 18th! Today it was announced that tickets will begin to go on sale as early as Oct. 1st. Also, today, Summit released a great new trailer, The Twilight Saga-Breaking Dawn Pt. 1-Teaser Trailer.

A couple of things...

Charlie.I just love him. The character, the actor, perfectly cast. Just what little he appears in this trailer, have your kleenex ready come Nov. 18th.

Carlisle and Alice's hair. WTF????

Edward. This is where I could go on and on. Staying true to his blues and greys. I love that. I also love that we'll get to see an edgier side to him. Something about Robert Pattinson raising his voice, it just does it for me. Not sure what that says about me but...I digress.

^^^ yeah....that.

The swoop in, as Bella starts to collapse to the floor. The way Edward goes to cradle her the back of her head, there's just something about that quick scene that made me smile. I also love how they ended the trailer. I'm thinking that scene will be about where the end Pt. 1 and begin Pt. 2.

What do you think about the new trailer?

Remembering 9/11

10 years ago today, I was holding my then 5 month old baby girl. My husband called from work, telling me to turn the tv on, that a plane had hit the world one of the Twin Towers in NYC.

My heart broke immediately for all those involved. I thought, "What a tragic accident." Thankfully, my little one had fallen asleep so I laid her down for a nap. It was then, just a few minutes later, that I saw the second plane hit. The horror continued after learning the Pentagon had been attacked as well.

The days, months and even years that followed changed me, changed you, and changed our country. I can't believe 10 years has past. Today is also the beginning of the 2011-2012 NFL season. I, along with many American's, will spend the day with family and friends, grilling burgers and hot dogs, rooting for the home team. While we enjoy our day, let us take time to remember the lives lost on that tragic day. Remember the heros of then and even now who continue to keep our borders protected and our cities safe... ten years later.

My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

"So. Good." She closed her eyes and rocked on top of him.

"It'd be better if I wasn't worried about accidentally bleeding out."
She still had her knife pressed to his jugular...

Seduced by the Storm is the third installment of the ACRO series and it just keeps getting better and better. This review is going to be one of the hardest I've ever written. That's only because it was.. JUST.  THAT. GOOD. I have to be careful to not spoil it for anyone even though I'm so tempted to just gush endlessly.

I'll start with Wyatt. Hmm..Wyatt. He's an ACRO agent, a former SEAL, with a tortured past. Thing that tortures him most is that he can't remember. There is a window of time, that resulted in the death of a family member, that Wyatt simply cannot recall. Not completely, and especially not clearly. While Wyatt is scarred, both on his chest and thigh from his SEAL days, it's the internal scars that haunt him most. His special ability is not only Telekinesis but a sexual allure that cannot be denied. He's able to release an extremely potent level of pheromones, making him literally...irresistable. There is a downside to such a power, a downside that has prevented Wyatt from having any type of real relationship, or ever believing he could.

Wyatt is  fiercely loyal to ACRO therefore he pushes his own demons aside, driving forward on his mission. With the safety of not only the American people in mind, but global security, Wyatt finds himself in search for a weather machine that has generated a possible level 5, if not higher hurricane set to wreak havoc along America's east coast. Find it and destroy it. Mission accomplished.

Enter Faith Black. A lovely British independent agent in search of the same machine but for different reasons. After a brief meeting in a bar and a would be one night stand, both Faith and Wyatt are stunned to see one another yet again. Even more so when they must to be allies, atleast temporarily to get their hands on the motherboard and out of harms way with both their lives in tact. Their story is one of passion, questionable trust, loyalty, self discovery and healing of scars. Beautifully done, very intense, raw emotion and scorching sex scenes. Hellicopter...'nuff said.Well done.

If that's not enough, more Creed and Annika. Again, I can never get enough of those two. There was so much growth and development for them in this book. I laughed and cried...not to mention...the heat factor. Wow. Their relationship from the beginning, has been a power struggle of sorts. Annika won't give up any and Creed simply wants her, all of her. Tragedy strikes leaving Creed feeling empty and ready to just walk away from it all. Sometimes, good can emerge from tragedy and in this case, it cracks them open, reveals them and forces them to makes choices and sacrifices to determine their future. Beautiful. I still feel this pairing should have gotten their own book but, I don't feel cheated. I just hope I haven't heard the last of those two. I want to know if Creed is still watching Soaps. Haha.

Dev. This is a hard one because, his pain, for me, is the most heartwrenching. As the leader of ACRO he has to maintain a specific image. One of strength and leadership, even when his world shatters all around him. His love story is one you'll feel in your bones. Have your kleenex ready. I can't wait to see what "love" will bring forth for him down the road.

It was nice to hear from Remy and Haley again as well. Where there's a storm, Remy can always be found.

This installment is, by far, my favorite to date. So much packed into one book, never a dull moment, never a normal heart rate, or a dry eye. Loved it.

"I've thought about how you'd taste," he said, in a low, guttural voice, and she whimpered, arched against his mouth.
"Jesus," he panted. "It's like a fucking drug."

~Tommy aka "Ender"

This was one of those books I found impossible to put down. I did'nt care if my eyes were burning, that my vision had started to blur or that it was after 2am. I just had to finish this story. I loved book 1, "Riding the Storm" of this series but I have to say, this one blew it away. In the first installment, while the story premise was interesting, the book was more of an erotic read than anything else. Book 2 is just as hot and steamy, if not more so. The difference in book 2 is the plot. There is more of an actual story to follow, and more emotionally charged. This book is a high octane page turner, a delicious delight.

Tom Knight, aka "Ender" is sent on a mission. A mission with a very small time frame but basic intstructions. Convince Kira Donovan to join ACRO or shoot her dead. He has 48hrs. This is nothing new for Ender, it's what he does. What is new, however, is his reaction to his target. An unmistakable pull that he can't quite explain, nor can he decide if he wants to. She is to be a mission, nothing more.

Kira is a animal whisperer if you will. She has more of a connection with animals than she does with humans actually. While this is a matter of life or death for her, Tom (Ender) came at the perfect time. Literally. Kira is in heat. She considers this a curse, it's all but ruined her life, basically prevented her from having one. She has no other option because if she fights it, she'll die.

There is a second farm hand that Ender does'nt trust, nor like for that matter and so the tug of war begins. Along with Ender and Kira's story, the reader continues to be treated with more Creed and Annika. For me, by far, the best pairing of the series. At least up to this point. While I love reading about them in each book, I wish they had one all their own. Such a well written progression for those two. Not to mention, there is no such thing as too much Creed.

Devlin (ACRO's leader)has a fascinating story and background that is becoming more prominent. We learn suprising information about the character that adds to the complexity and makes the reader want to know more about what drives him.

Ready to devore book 3!

Riding the Storm (ACRO, #1)

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Me", he murmured, his voice vibrating through her like some sort of secret trigger, because suddenly, she was coming, and he was saying, "Only me, bebe, only me."

Meet Remy, aka "Storm". An ex SEAL who stands 6'3" with piercing blue eyes. He's striking. Literally. Remy has a gift, or a curse to hear him tell it. He has an affinity to weather. He can summon a lightening strike, bone jarring thunder, rain, hail. He is literally a force to be reckoned with. While Remy can control nature, nature too can control Remy. The storms both inside and around him, takes ahold of his sex drive. A sex drive that most women can't keep up with but are more than willing to lose themselves trying.

He's from deep in the bayou of Louisianna. Those who are familiar, know that means he's got that sexy, Cajun drawl as he slips from English to Cajun French and back again. Yum.
Haley is a parameteorologist sent in by a secret agency to test Remy's powers, to see if the rumors are true. She is to seduce Remy, lead him to trust her so that he will gladly come with her to this agency to learn how to control his gift, using it for the greater good. What Haley does'nt realize is this will be the hardest mission of her career. LITERALLY. hee.

Meanwhile, Charles, the leader of an opposing agency that wants Remy for all the wrong reasons, won't make things easy. He too is a force to be reckoned with and won't go down easy.

I loved the chemistry between Remy and Haley. The sex scenes were OFF THE CHARTS hot. Sex in the rain, storms all around, scorching! How their story unfolded and the bond they weren't initially aware of, nicely done.

While I love Remy and Haley, I have to say, another pair stole the show. Creed and Annika. The sexual tension between the two, so evenly matched. I hope those two get their own book down the line. Shower

Loving this series!!
